Golden Gate in Henleaze has to be one of the better Chinese takeaways around, serving up a whole host of distinctly Chinese dishes. There are many curry dishes to choose from as well as all the standard choices, plus my personal favourites - the egg foo yung dishes. These are basically omelette themed creations served with egg fried or steamed rice. Don't leave without trying the King Prawn foo yung.
Frequently open during the day time this restaurant is also a candidate for lunch. It's possible to pick up some English snacks at this time with dishes like steak and kidney pie and the old favourite - fish and chips. It is the Chinese cuisine, however, that really stands out and is worth making the trip for.
